Family Seeks Help to Find Missing Belizean William Milan in Mexico

A Belizean national has gone missing from his home in Mexico, and his family is urgently appealing to the public for help in bringing him back safely. Twenty-nine-year-old William Milan was last seen by his mother on April nineteenth at their shared home in Chetumal, Quintana Roo. According to her, Milan entered his room and shortly after, vanished. We spoke with his sister, who shared that the family is at a loss, unsure of where he might have gone or if he was in danger.

On the Phone: Sister of William Milan

“He just  went to buy his food and then returned back to his room.”

Britney Gordon

“So they didn’t see him leave his room?”

Sister of William Milan

“Nope. He come from buying his food, then he get inside his room and from that entering he made, he never made it out again.”

Britney Gordon

“And did your mom hear anybody else enter the house or hear sounds outside?”

Sister of William Milan

“No. Miss the neighbors also tell my mom that they no see they no hear nothing.”

Britney Gordon

“Do you guys  know if there’s any reason why anyone would want to hurt him? If maybe that’s the case or was he known to wander?”

Sister of William Milan

“No, miss my mom say that he went to cut cane and from cutting cane he go and goes to his room, buy his food and lock himself. He don’t have no friends. Yes, he smoke, he drinks, but he was not a person that will go and do bad things.”

Britney Gordon

“Okay. And do you think there’s any possibility of him possibly running away or just going to live somewhere else and not telling you guys?”

Sister of William Milan

“No, because all his stuff are there in his room, even his chain. And my mom told me too that they found some blood stains in his room, in his blanket, in his working boots. If somebody see him or know about something, because I don’t know what happened in that room. If he come and cross the river and come here and he’s afraid and doesn’t want to reach to us, but staying away from us because of afraid, fearing for his life. So, I don’t know, miss.  I don’t know what to say because it’s an emotional feeling, not knowing where he gone. What happened to him.”

Was Missing Fisherman Jeremy Mushlar Murdered at Sea?

A man is missing at sea near Tobacco Caye in Stann Creek after disappearing around eight PM on Tuesday night. Thirty-three-year-old Jeremy Mushlar was fishing in a dory with three others who were in a separate boat. When the others decided to head back because the fish weren’t biting, Mushlar chose to stay out longer. That was the last time he was seen. His younger sister, Kaia Mushlar, told News Five that while the family doesn’t want to judge anyone, the details they’ve received are inconsistent. She said they learned on Wednesday that Jeremy had been fishing at Tobacco Caye for four days until he vanished on Tuesday night.

                       Kaia Mushlar

Kaia Mushlar, Sister of Missing Man

“Jeremy went out to go fishing by himself Tuesday the 15th of April at approximately 8:00 p.m.. He was in a blue dory that did belong to his previous friend from Dangriga that was lately murdered on Ramos Road on the 23rd of March.”

Marion Ali

Who’s that?

                    Charles Bradley

Kaia Mushlar

“That would be Charles Bradley, also known as Short Man. So according to the information that we have received, Jeremy went out in the blue dory. He was, according to the three people who were in a boat that saw him out there, he was drinking and he was lying at the bottom of the dory and he was told three times by them that he was drifting and he told them that he still wanted to go ahead and stay out and try to catch some fish. Since the three in the big boat stated that fish weren’t biting, they went ahead and headed back to the caye. They then told us that around 11:00 p.m., they decided to go back and check on Jeremy and they went back to the same spot where they had last seen him, and they didn’t see him anywhere.”

Marion Ali

“Now these people, are they his friends? Are they his associates?”

Kaia Mushlar

So, one of them is his girlfriend’s brother, and the next two are friends that live around the same area as him, his friends? Yes, that’s correct.”

Marion Ali

“Do you have any reason to believe that foul play was involved in his disappearance?”

Kaia Mushlar

“Well, I don’t really wanna say too much at this time, however, the details that we have been receiving have been very inconsistent. And we believe that something definitely fishy is happening and we just hope that we’re able to get to the bottom of this.”

Marion Ali

“The friend that was murdered just a month ago on Ramos Road, do you think that has anything to do with his disappearance?”

Kaia Mushlar

“Well, again, I don’t want really wanna say too much, but we had heard from sources that it was supposed to be Jeremy and him that were supposed to get shot that morning, that thanks to God, Jeremy wasn’t around him at that time, so he was the only one that unfortunately it happened to.”

Marion Ali

“And if that is the case, why would anybody want to hurt your brother?”

Kaia Mushlar

“Again, due to – we live way here in Belize City and he lives in Dangriga you know, we aren’t really around him much to see, you know, what he’s doing or to be a judge of that. However, as far as I’m concerned, my brother has never had any issues with the police, nothing like that. There was an incident a while ago that happened that my brother did end up in the hospital for that incident, and I just hope that it’s not that issue again.”

Marion Ali

“Was he shot?”

Kaia Mushlar

“No, he was stabbed.”

San Pedro Resident Missing for Five Days

Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate San Pedro Town resident Carlos Cassanova. He was last seen just before midnight on Saturday and Sunday morning. There are reports that Cassanova was in the back of a police mobile when he was last seen. His sister, Telma Corado, says she has received those reports, but the Belize Police Department has said that this narrative is not accurate. Corado told us, via telephone, what the family knows so far.

                          Carlos Cassanova

On the Phone: Telma Corado, Sister

“For right now, we’re a bit relieved since the police have taken our report seriously, because at first they weren’t really paying mind to it. So they’ve started their investigation and started reviewing nearby footage. I don’t know much for now. All we know at the moment is that he went missing on Saturday night. The last persons who saw are saying that he was last seen between the hours of twelve in the morning Saturday into Sunday morning. So, they’re currently investigating, and they’ll start getting videos from nearby stores that have cameras so that we can figure out what time more or less he came down. That’s really all we have for now. But I do feel relieved that the police have already taken my report and started the investigation.”

Benita Palacio

“We understand that he was last seen behind a police truck; is this true?”

                        Carlos Cassanova

Telma Corado

“Well, that’s what people are saying, and that’s what they’re investigating now.”

Benita Palacio

“We also understand that he left his phone in his room; is this true?”

Telma Corado

“Yes, that’s right. He left his phone, his wallet everything. He left everything; didn’t take anything with him. The only thing we see he might have taken is his keys because the door was locked.”

San Pedro Fisherman Reported Missing

A second San Pedro Town resident has been reported missing. Twenty-six-year-old fisherman Ernesto Lopez went missing on Saturday night into Sunday morning also. He was last seen socializing with friends. His relatives have been desperately searching for answers. We spoke with a relative who revealed that he left his friends that night to meet up with an ex-girlfriend.

On the Phone: Relative of Ernesto Lopez

“The last time my brother saw him was Saturday night. That was the last we knew about him that he was staying around drinking with friends. But, they have already investigated friends. They said they were with him but they got a call from some ex-girlfriend from him. My concerned is that I was speaking with his mom from two days ago and she said that she had received a message from his ex-girlfriend stating that she was dumped by the barge area and that his body is still there. But when she went back and look into the picture, it was only put as view one. She was under investigation and released today because she says she doesn’t know anything, and she just went to find him because he was going to give her some money. That is the story she is giving. At the moment my brother and six friends which are very close to him are on the boat doing the search. At the moment the police has not put their search to find them, because as you know another person is missing.”

Paul Lopez

“Could it be that the two missing persons are related in any way?”

On the Phone: Relative of Ernesto Lopez

“No, we don’t think so.”

Man Goes Missing After Trip to Chetumal

Belizean man has gone missing after a trip to Chetumal. Thirty-four-year-old Vincent Young was last seen on the afternoon of Tuesday, November thirteenth, 2024. Records show that Vincent entered Quintana Roo, Mexico, but never returned, raising alarm among his family. Vincent is a dark-skinned Creole man, about six-foot-two and weighing around two hundred pounds. He was last seen wearing a black sleeveless shirt, three-quarter blue jeans, and green Nike slippers. We spoke with his sister, Sally Lou Young, who shared more details about the search for her brother.

On the Phone: Sally Lou Young, Vincent Young’s Sister

“The time and date he was last seen, he just said to my mom, he’s going to Mexico. What he was doing with who when where and why we don’t know All that that was all that was said that he was going to Mexico.”

Britney Gordon

“And what have the search efforts been like since then have you guys filed a official police report?”

On the Phone: Sally Lou Young

“Yes, so the Corozal police department came to the house after my niece posted that. We hadn’t heard from him and my mom went to the Corozal police department to make an official police report but since I was there I suggested to her she goes to Mexico to verify that is actually Where he is because as you know People might say I’m going north and then they go south they might say they go south then they go west so once that report was filed with Corozal Police Department, I personally went with my mom to the Quintana Roo on border, well, Chetumal, where we verified with the Mexican authorities that he did legally entered Mexico on the day of said  Missing report, which is November twelfth.”

Britney Gordon

“And there is no documentation of him returning back into the country.”

On the Phone: Sally Lou Young

“That’s right So he went legally into Mexico in his personal vehicle He entered Mexico and haven’t returned As of now, that’s all we know.” This is now international crime per se. We can’t personally get involved and go and contradict anything that the Belizean authorities could somewhat help with. So from this point, the family just asked that if anyone happens to see him, hear of him, he called them to contact the family, but we’re not trying to make an effort to contradict anything because. It’s international. Now he in another country.”

Missing Man’s Home Burglarized in Vista Del Mar

The home of missing man Mason Patnett was reportedly broken into and burglarized. According to reports, Patnett’s house in Vista Del Mar, Ladyville, was targeted sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon. Police were alerted by one of his relatives, who has been anxiously awaiting any signs of Patnett since he went missing a few weeks ago. Upon arrival, authorities found broken glass on the ground, likely from the window the intruders used to gain entry. Patnett’s family estimates that around two hundred and thirty dollars’ worth of items were stolen, including a crockpot, crystal water bottles, barbering equipment, and several groceries. The relentless search for Mason Patnett has been ongoing for nearly three weeks with no substantial leads. His family continues to plead with the public for any information on his whereabouts.

Sister of Mason Patnett Pleading for Closure at Week of Searching

It’s been six long days since thirty-eight-year-old Mason Patnett went missing, and his family is growing increasingly desperate. The last time anyone heard from him was on Sunday evening when he updated his WhatsApp status. Shortly after, he vanished without a trace. When his family checked his home, they found the door unlocked and food still cooking on the stove. Patnett’s loved ones have been tirelessly searching for him, clinging to the hope that he’s still alive. But as the days pass with no leads, their fears are mounting. His sister, Sasha Patnett, spoke to News Five earlier today, sharing updates on the search efforts and describing the emotional toll it’s taking on their mother, who is already grieving the loss of four children before this. Here’s more on that.

Britney Gordon, Reporting

It’s been almost a week since thirty-eight-year-old Mason Patnett vanished, and there’s still no trace of him. Despite relentless searching, his family, friends, and the community are starting to lose hope of finding him alive. Yet, the search presses on. Mason’s sister, Sasha Patnett, shares updates on their ongoing efforts.

On the Phone: Sasha Patnett, Sister of Mason Patnett

“When our search first started, we were, some would say naive and very hopeful and we were praying, to get him back home alive.  And we’ve been pleading to the public for information about anything, and we haven’t gotten much information about  his whereabouts, what transpired or anything like that. When we started off, we were so hopeful, but regrettably, it’s been 6 days and our hope is dwindling and, the reality is really setting in now”

She explains that her anxiety over her brother’s disappearance is made even worse by her worries about their mother’s health.

On the Phone: Sasha Patnett

“It’s really affecting my mom now. She’s older and she has her own ailments that she is handling right now. And this has just scaring us because it’s scaring her a lot and she’s never experienced anything like this. And I think we know now, or we now understand that he might not come home to us alive. And, at this point,  we are most likely searching for a body, and so we’re just asking  whoever took him  to please just tell us where he is, so we could leave him to rest,  and  hopefully start moving on, because it’s been so hard on my mom, she doesn’t,  she keeps trying to figure out where she could be.”

Some speculate that Mason Patnett’s disappearance might be tied to his past. Back in 2012, he was charged with attempted murder along with another man. The charges were dropped in 2018 after both the alleged victim and suspect passed away. His family isn’t sure if this old incident is connected to his current situation, especially since it happened over a decade ago and they believe he had turned his life around. Sasha Patnett emphasized how desperately his family wants him to come home.

On the Phone: Sasha Patnett

“Not knowing where Mason is, we don’t know, every time we hear  Of a potential body or anything like that, we’re going to go through  the same emotions every single time. We’re going to have to relive it over and over again. So we just want to find him at this point. My mom could at least have that to know that she knows where her baby boy is because.  She might be an adult to the rest of the world and to the rest of the least, but to my mom that’s her baby boy, and she doesn’t know where she is, that’s the, and it’s really affecting her, it’s affecting all of us, but I can’t imagine how she feels right now.”

The family is planning another search soon. Even though their optimism is fading, they won’t stop until they find closure.

On the Phone: Sasha Patnett

“We are working on another search. Hopefully we’re going to have information soon and we will be sending out information asking for volunteers.  I believe that because of the time that’s passed, others that are not as involved with him, they’re going to forget him and we’re just trying to keep  him at the top of the news and all over the social media platforms so that people could remember that we’re still looking for him. And that he still hasn’t been found. We’re just asking, please just tell us where he is so that we can go get him.”

Family Takes to the Community for Help in Locating Missing Man

The family of Mason Patnett is in a race against time after he went missing on Sunday afternoon. The last anyone heard from the thirty-eight-year-old Vista del Mar resident was when he updated his social media profiles that day. Then, radio silence. When his girlfriend returned from a long trip, she found the house open and Mason nowhere to be found. Today, his family took to the streets of Ladyville and Vista del Mar, distributing and posting flyers with his details. Neighbors and old classmates joined the search, with one even offering space in his shop for a flyer. News Five’s Marion Ali was on the ground with the family, retracing Mason’s last known steps. Here’s that report.

Marion Ali, Reporting

It’s been four days now since Mason Patnett was last seen alive. The thirty-eight-year-old construction worker was said to be updating his social media profiles on Sunday, and then all contact with him were lost. Today his sisters were handing out flyers and asking people to assist them in locating him. In 2012, Patnett was charged along with another man with attempted murder, but in 2018, the charges were withdrawn from against him when his would-be accomplice and the same man he was accused of shooting eventually ended up dead. Nikita Patnett told us she does not believe his past is involved in his disappearance.

Nikita Patnett

Nikita Patnett, Sister of Mason Patnett

“ Mason was actually young, too, that was like ten years ago. So, he was like in his early twenties, I would say. I don’t believe that it has anything to do with that. Like, it’s been years now since. My brother has been growing into a mature young man. You know, he’s come a long way from who he used to be, the things he used to do, and he’s grown into a really nice mature man. The reason why we come out together is because my brother usually that’s somebody will spend his time at home and for the fact that he not at home for days, he has not fed his dogs. My brother has three dogs and he has not fed his dogs and he nuh deal with his plants and stuff like that. So that does raise concern for me.”

Kevin Dawson owns a shop in Vista del Mar and said he also went to primary school with Patnett. He allowed Patnett’s family to put up one of the flyers on his shop.

“We’re all human beings and we need to work together.  So, when things like this happen, we have to work together with people. So, it’s very shocking. It’s 2025 and we need to come together and make a change. And, you know, by us doing this, we can find a solution to it. When we were small all of us went to primary school together at Ladyville Seventh Day Adventist School The Adventist primary school so I know his sisters very well, and I know them very well.”

Joining the search for Patnett today was his neighbour, Aaron Wilson.

Aaron Wilson, Neighbour of Mason Patnett

“He’s my neighbor. So, that’s one of the reasons. Next reason is that my two lee youths’ uncle, when I use to look up pahn dehn uncle because that da how I know the man, because the two lee bwai weh I record fi do music that da dehn uncle. So, how I nuh wa know ah? You understand? Plus I know the lee young bwai dehn ma and I know the family and I di assist them and I wa get to the bottom of it. I never mi di focus much pahn it, but now I di focus pahn it because I realize that, you know what, my mind deh somewhere else and this happen right ya. So then I join, and if I have to swim, if I have to jump eena anything, because I mek fi that. And we can get to the bottom of it, believe me you.”

It’s been two days now, he hasn’t eaten anything. Come home to check on his dogs. Sister of Missing Corozal Man Says He Planned to Return Home

It’s been four days since twenty-year-old Joshua Hall from San Antonio Village, Corozal, went missing, and his family is pleading for help to find him. Joshua was last seen on Monday morning when he went to the Corozal Town Police Station to sign in, as required by his bail conditions. Records show that he signed in that morning but never made it back home. Joshua left home on a pink bicycle with a basket on the front, wearing a green shirt, black cargo pants, and black Nike slippers. Today, his sister, Aiyana Hall, took to Facebook to share more details about his disappearance. She explained that Joshua must sign in at the police station every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and must be home by six p.m. each evening due to his curfew. If he’s caught out after curfew, he risks being incarcerated. Aiyana believes her brother intended to return home that morning. The family is desperate for any information that could help bring Joshua back safely.

                                      Aiyana Hall

Aiyana Hall, Sister of Joshua Hall

“He left home at 8:36 promising to return to set up a bed, being that he’s waiting his child and him and his girlfriend are supposed to move in. The last message was to his girlfriend that he’s heading out to sign and he will be right back. However, records show that he signed it at the police station at 8:58 a.m., but after that, no one at the police station can confirm that he left. Or no one has, they haven’t picked up any footage that shows him leaving the station or anywhere in Corozal. Right now, we’re suspecting anything. We can’t overlook anything at this point. It’s been too long. No one is talking. There’s no sign of his bike. And I know that he wouldn’t just disappear like that. You know, he looked forward to coming home. He looked forward to come home to my apartment. He would eat. He would never just go and tell nobody anything. Also, I have access to his social media, both Facebook and Instagram, which was his only way of communicating with anyone. And I can verify that he wasn’t supposed to meet any friend that day. He didn’t have any plans further than going to sign and returning home.”
