“This magnificent building will now house four court rooms in addition to this main court room. There will be judge’s chambers, a conference room, a mediation room, offices to accommodate the positions that were created by the senior courts Act such as a master’s chamber. In addition, there is a roving room for lawyers and there is a room which the lawyers and their clients can have consultations and for all of this we a re grateful. As we look back over the past year, we place on record our collective thanks to the government of Belize for their unswerving support of the judiciary and by extension court users and the people of Belize. In my view this magnificent building is symbolic of the people of Belize’s confidence in the justice system, and we say a resounding thank you. With this impressive modernizing facility we can expect the justices of the senior court to continue to work over and above the call of duties and that in a short period time the severe backlogs which are already being reduced significantly should indeed be a thing of the past.”
