All PUP 31 Present at Sunday’s Roll Call

With the election campaign in full swing, the high-energy buzz of rallies and conventions was on full display at the P.U.P. Convention on Sunday. The event featured all the essential elements to make it official, including the presentation of the thirty-one candidates and the resolutions. News Five’s Marion Ali was on the scene and filed this report.

Before taking their seats inside the Belize City Civic Center, supporters danced to live PUP songs performed beneath a massive blue and white flag flying high over the Civic compound. The crowd that filed into for the convention was one of the largest that had standing room only in recent times. The formal aspect of the convention required that quorum be established. PUP Secretary General, Linsford Castillo conducted a roll call of all thirty-one standard bearers to do this. With the attendance of all thirty-one standard bearers, several resolutions were presented for the endorsement of those standard bearers.

“Be it resolved that the National Convention of the People’s United Party reaffirms its commitment to the principles and objectives of Plan Belize, recognizing its vital role in shaping a brighter future for all Belizeans. Be further resolved that the National Convention calls upon all members of the People’s United Party to continue advocating for the full implementation of Plan Belize.  of Plan Belize and requests for a Plan Belize 2.0, ensuring that its benefits reach every corner of our nation and that no Belizeans are left behind.”

“Be it resolved that the National Convention of the People’s United Party hereby endorse the Team 31 to contest the general election scheduled for March 12th, 2025, recognizing their readiness and capability to represent the interests of the Belizean people. The National Convention encourages Team 31 to continue to engage with the electorate, articulating a clear vision of the future of Belize, and emphasizes the achievement and commitment of the People’s United Party.”

 

Osiely Mendez, Presenter, People’s United Party

“Be it resolved that the National Convention of the People’s United Party hereby endorses the Honorable John Briceño and his National Executive to continue serving the  for another term, recognizing their dedication and effectiveness in leading our party and country.  Be it further resolved that the National Convention calls upon all party members to unite in support of the Honorable John Briceño and his National Executive, ensuring a strong and cohesive front as we move forward into the next phase of our political journey.”

 

The event was filled with enthusiastic fanfare as supporters were bussed in from all divisions. In Collet, P.U.P. Standard Bearer Devin Daly led a lively motorcade from his area down Central American Boulevard to the Civic. Marion Ali for News Five.
