Accused Rapist Michael Llewellyn Flowers is Out on Bail

When a seventeen-year-old claimed she was raped after partying at Eruption Nightclub, it caused an uproar, especially since she was underage. The incident didn’t happen inside the club but nearby after she left in the early morning hours. The man charged with the rape, Michael Llewelyn Flowers from Ladyville, is out on bail and will face trial on February tenth, 2025. The alleged rape occurred on October twenty-second, 2022. Police investigations revealed that the night before, the seventeen-year-old attended a wake and then went to Eruption Nightclub with a friend. She lost consciousness at the club and woke up the next morning in a vehicle, wearing only her underwear. A concerned neighbor on the Phillip Goldson Highway area alerted the police after seeing a man and a woman walking along the highway and trying to open his gate. The neighbor’s surveillance camera identified the man as Michael Flowers. A medical examination confirmed the rape, leading to Flowers’ charge. During the Case Management Conference, Flowers’ attorney, Ronell Gonzalez, indicated plans to challenge the admissibility of Flowers’ caution statement. Flowers, who is out on a ten-thousand-dollar bail, admitted to having sex with the intoxicated minor after they left the club. Additionally, the owners of Eruption Nightclub, Mirna Estela Portillo and her common-law husband, Hector Choj, were charged with allowing a minor into their establishment. They are both out on one thousand dollars bail each.
