Drunken Brawl on St. George’s Caye Results in Stabbing

A night of drinking on St. George’s Caye ended in violence. On Sunday, police responded to a report by Nelson Pascasio, who alleged that Manuel Avila stabbed him in the chest during an argument. 

Pascasio and Avila were taken by coast guard officers to Belize City. Pascasio received treatment and is now in a stable condition.

Manuel Avila has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and grievous harm.

According to police, both individuals were intoxicated at the time of the incident. The reason for their argument remains unknown.
