U.S. Army Ranger missing at sea for 3 days

Wrangler Shane Leesma

Police and Coast Guard are continuing the search for kayaker Wrangler Shane Leesman, missing in the seas off San Pedro since April twenty-ninth. The former American Army Ranger was with a friend, Bradley Evans Josker, when the pair decided to kayak to the reef. Rough waters and strong currents capsized the small craft and caused both men to drift apart in the seas beyond the reef. Josker was rescued by the Coast Guard hours after, when a passing boat reported seeing the capsized kayak. But by that time, Leesman was nowhere to be found. Since then, authorities have conducted continuous searches in the area with no success. Today, San Pedro Police told News Five that they were forced to temporarily suspend the search because of locally rough seas, but are preparing to resume operations. Wrangler Shane Leesman is twenty-nine years old.
