Romain Virgo in concert for Agric Weekend!

The annual National Agricultural and Trade Show kicked off today with an opening ceremony at the show grounds in Belmopan and will continue throughout the weekend. Aside from the livestock, there will be deals and rock bottom packages offered by numerous businesses; there will also be entertainment. Jamaican artist, Romain Virgo, touched down today in the jewel for an encore performance at Barrio Fino in Belmopan. The artist along with his entourage came to News Five’s studios to invite the public to the event.

“It’s gonna be good, the energy is gonna be different. The last time we were here, we didn’t get enough time on stage. Some people came backstage and said we didn’t get to hear certain songs some people say they didn’t get to hear cry tears for you and all these things. So we hope this time we can get to spend more time on stage; get in much more. Last time, we had to stay back and take pictures with everybody because I wanted everybody to feel not just me on stage, but me in person and who Romain Virgo really is. So it’s a hundred and fifty percent energy again; I hope the rain don’t fall and I look forward to having a good time with the people of Belize once more.  Me a hear of some songs weh I need to perform so I don’t even know…I’m gonna have to arrange it and make sure it is arranged in a way that people definitely enjoy themselves. I know people are going to enjoy themselves, but I’m even more excited to be here because I feel like home; it feel like I leave home and I come back. I feel the love from when I reach the airport…everybody saying welcome back. It’s just a great feeling and I just want to keep this up and let the people of Belize know that we love the appreciation they show to the music and we always want to be a part of them.”

“Now the music industry, we know that it is changing so often and you have everyday something new coming out and new songs that you are doing. Since you were last here, what new have you been working on?”

“We’ve been putting out a few singles. Soul Provider is the one that we’ve been promoting. It’s been doing well all over and we give thanks to that. We look forward to always growing in the music and I just released a video for one of my songs called Everlasting Love. So most of the work we are doing are singles that we are putting out. We never want to put out too much music at the same time because music takes time and especially my kinda music…singers, lover’s rock. So we don’t want to flood the market and confuse the people weh listen to the music.”
