A case of arson in Santa Elena

There is a case of alleged arson in Santa Elena. Police believe the ex-common-law-husband of Evelyn Estell, is responsible for setting on fire her house located on Carillo Puerto Avenue, Santa Elena Town.  Investigations reveal that Estell was awakened by the smell of smoke and managed to escape the blaze. The house was totally destroyed. The owner of the house, eighty-two year old Augustine Martinez lived in the upper flat of the two storey building. Investigations continue.

“San Ignacio Police visited Carillo Puerto Avenue, Santa Elena Town, where on arrival; they saw a green in color two story building engulfed in flames. Initial investigation is that Miss Evelyn Estell, thirty year old naturalized Belizean is the person occupying the lower portion of the house and she was awaken by the smell of smoke and that is when she realized that the house was on fire. She immediately run out of the house, but information is that she had received a text earlier that same evening from her ex-common law husband threatening that he would burn down the house because they are separated and she does not want to take him back to the house.”
