But back to Karen Bevans….The former Chief Operations Officer of B.T.L. resigned from the telephone company on February seventh. Last Thursday was her last day at B.T.L., and this coming Wednesday, April ninth, will be her first day as Director of Tourism at the Belize Tourism Board. Late this evening, B.T.B. issued a release confirming Bevans’ appointment. According to the B.T.B., Bevan is imminently qualified for the top job.  She is replacing Laura Esquivel Frampton, who was pushed out from the B.T.B. weeks ago when seven executives complained of her management style to the Board and the Minister of Tourism. While Esquivel Frampton’s removal has played out, there is information that there is more to her orchestrated ouster.
