  1. Paco Smith says:

As long as the illegal intruder threatened the lives of the security forces, our soldiers have every right to defend themselves, particularly on Belizean soil.

The GOB’s joint press release, with the Government of Guatemala, concerning the incident, reeks of the all-too-common stance (or lack thereof) regarded as acquiescence.

  2. Belizean Pride says:

Yes, once the armed guat refused to let go is arm when told so, or fired back at our BDF they have the right to shoot and kill once they feel threaten. This is our border problem these guat have no respect or either the president of guat doesn’t inform their illiterate people where is guat and where is Belize

The killing justified?….until one has all the facts together. Their are two sides of the story. Then one can decide whether it was or was not. The issue that they (guatemalans) opened fire first at the patrol is a deciding factor. One reserves the right to defend his/her life.
Did this guatemalan had the rite to be where he was?… ABSOLUTELY NOT!! They have taken our Nation as “pappyshow.” Lets show them we are small but solid, in unity with our territorial sovereignity.
Its the Guat Authorities who have to remind these ppl not to wonder WEST into Belizean territory cause we have security forces protecting our sovereignity.
Proud to be Belizean. I have no gripes to volunteer my time for the love of my nation. VIVA BELIZE!!!

Yes! If he did not obey the orders then it is sad but true; he got what he deserved.

  5. Emil says:

There are always two sides to a story. In this case it happened in our side as usual. This is our country Belize and our BDF has the right to defend our territory from any type of invasion. In other words we give our security forces the benefit of the doubt.
