Belizean politicians make the Top 10 Sexist and Heterosexist Moments in Caribbean Politics

Belizean politicians have earned regional recognition in a Caribbean online blog entitled ‘Top Ten Sexist and Heterosexist Moments in Caribbean Politics.’ To be sure, it’s a dubious honour to be featured on that list…and Belize is on it twice. The list features ten random instances in which women have been the subject of sexist, derogatory and degrading comments and treatment by Caribbean politicians. It is probably little surprise that U.D.P. Minister Michael Finnegan comes in at number five. He gets that special attention for his comments aimed at Member of Parliament on the opposition side, Dolores Balderamos-Garcia over the House macebearer, Brian “Yellow Man” Audinett. The list also makes mention of Prime Minister Dean Barrow and his Deputy, Gaspar Vega, laughing at those comments. At number nine is the U.D.P.’s Guardian Newspaper, for a degrading photo it posted on its front page of the President of the opposition’s United Women’s Group. According to the blog, the political newspaper was obviously interested in, (Quote) “a sexualized and gendered shaming of women.” (Unquote)

Lol! Finnegan is straight ghetto, always has been and always will be. You can take the pig out of the pig pen but u can’t take the pig out of him. This is the nature of the people who have ruled this nation for the last 7 years plus. Kudos to Caribbean Online for recognizing what they are. But hey, we told you so.

Joe, that’s an insult to *PIGS*

Belize should also be recognized as a country where the B.T.B. (Belize Tourism Board), Immigration & the Police hate tourists.
