Wilfred ‘Sedi’ Elrington fires a broadside into the P.U.P. center
In theory, the purpose of the two-day session currently in the House of Representatives is to debate the 2014 – 2015 Budget. But in fact, after twelve speakers from both sides on Monday, there has been little or no mention of the draft estimates. Today, it started off with much more of the same, as Wilfred ‘Sedi’ Elrington fired a broadside into the P.U.P. center. About half of the so-called budget debate thus far has been taken up with insults and taunts across the aisle, but Elrington upped the ante first thing by attacking the P.U.P.’s iconic past leader, George Price. Like we said, that has absolutely nothing to do with the draft estimates for the next fiscal year, but it did get the expected rise.

Wilfred “Sedi” Elrington, Pickstock Area Rep
“I am responding directly to the assertion made by the former prime minister, twice prime minister, and the myth that they are perpetuating that it was George Price who got our independence. It wasn’t that; it wasn’t that at all. The people of Belize rejected the proposal which he brought in March of 1981 which was being negotiated by himself, Harry Courtney (now deceased), Assad Showman and we got our independence completely unfettered…no strings attached. Now Mister Speaker, it I important that the Belizean people understand and know that in 1957/58 when Price went to United Kingdom to try to get money for Belize, he had a secret meeting with the Guatemalan Foreign Minister, a man named Grenados, and the proposal was that the Guatemalans would give us money and he would cause Belize to enter into some…”
Francis Fonseca, Freetown Area Rep.
“Point of order, Mister Speaker. The member for Pickstock, we know he lives in an artificial world, but he is trying to rewrite history. And it is an absolute disgrace for the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country to get up in the National Assembly of Belize and try to diminish the legacy of the greatest patriot to ever serve this country, George Price. You should be ashamed of yourself trying to rewrite history and it has absolutely nothing to do with the budget.”
>he had a secret meeting with the Guatemalan Foreign Minister
and Sedi knows this secret because?
1) Sedi is senile
2) God talks to him and told him
3) the Guats told him and he believes it
4) he was there and saw it
old man, sit your fool #%^ down
But you do get the prize for today for Legislative Joke Meister
I am sure the Guats love negotiating with you.
Ever come home without your watch and pants?
Just ask all a them how much they thief today bunch of racist biggot thieves.
It is a joke how these politicians portray themselves in the House of Representatives. We need some people with common sense to run our country. So far all I see is a bunch of idiots on both sides who can’t even do a proper budget debate. They need to stop pointing fingers and stop calling each other names and start to deal with the real problems our country has. Mr Prime Minister needs to crack down on the corruption and stop covering up for his people because he is afraid to lose. I have no respect for the current government or the opposition at the moment. They have to sto behaving like little kids and start to act mature.
Sedi needs to show some respect to Mr Price. He could never be and will never be able to be like the Father of our nation.
Finally some has the balls to show George price for what he really was, a fraud. That meeting with the Guatemalans is no big secret. PUP s just chose to ignore it. History can never be rewitten Mr Fonseca, you said it yourself.
Well said Mr. Fonseca, well said! It is a total disrespect to accuse Hon George Price when he is not here to defend himself!
I am so embarrass to be a part of this circus called Belize. Internationally we are known as thieves and liars, nationally we prove to be thieves and liars and the politicians have learnt the trade very well. What is the only way to get rich in Belize?? Run for office and win after that life will be grand you and yours will never want again.
did thew budget pass?
This guy’s hatred for Mr Price is so profound that it makes him even more senile. What an educated a$$. Sedi just leave dead people alone. Do your work. Guats are still coming across the border to rape the country. You are in charge of this area. Do something to stop it. OF COURSE U ARE HAVING TROUBLE BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT A DIPLOMAT. But shit man act like you know something. All this cross border thing IS ON YOUR SHOULDER – MR IMPOTENT. Those Guats take you for their bar room joker. Did you know that? Your posturing an diatribe no fool noone.
Let me put my little two cents in; there has been much talk over the years how Hon. George Price didn’t care for black people and that’s why he encouraged an exodus to the US of blacks after hurricane Hattie. I don’t know how true this is because my Mother, who was well educated and versed, never spoke of this to us. What I can tell you is that this piece of history goes all the way back to England and their policies that they (England) and the US still practice today. They drain their colonies of their wealth, reserves and anything that they can put their hands upon and then hang them out to dry. I’m not the historian nor expert in this field, I’m a younger person than the Hon. Elrington, but someone can do the research and check the treaties England signed with Spain. For those of us who don’t know and realize, remember we are living in what was the Mosquito Coast. Spain and England ruled that entire area of Central and Latin America. Also, remember that we’re busted into British Honduras (Belize) and Honduras ( significantly Spanish Honduras). Spain had, and still has laws that their colonies can invoke and stake claim to other colonies , hence the Guatemalan issue. I’m sure that’s not all to it but that’s the gist. Now back to Sedi and these bunch of “Nincompoops.” From knowledge, what they aren’t telling you is this Guatemalan issue with the cayes and borders in the South is a done and mute point. We have lost those cayes. That has been another issue that the country has forgotten and has put on the backburner. The UDP administration has yet to inform the Belizean public that the negotiations are over. We were murdered in those meetings. The Guats brought in representatives and lawyers who knew more about Belizean law and spoke better English than we did. The only folks who had some sense in those meetings were Sedi (to an extent), Stuart Leslie (in preparations for the negotiations) and I don’t know if some of you remember father Murphy, S.J. who used to teach at St . John’s College . Imagine, Boots, Finnegan, and the likes at these meetings. They didn’t even know how to spell much less understand the vocabulary of these high-powered lawyers from Guatemala. The International High Court has basically made it’s decision and Belize has been left out in the cold. Sedi, Wilfred, please retire. Both of your brains are foggy. I’m saying this from knowledge and me being closer to the family than you know. Been in and out of the family from I was a child and our families are closer than you know, especially with the sis in NY.
