As we’ve told you, most of the budget debate never touched on the budget, but there was plenty of entertainment. On the opposition side, there was a lot of ‘call elections if you’re bad…’ while on the government side there was an equal amount of – ‘we will win every seat in every corner of the country. But one name popped out which caused opposition antenna to quiver. For months there have been allegations that Belmopan Area Representative John Saldivar is involved in a very lucrative phone credit side-business. So when Saldivar mentioned his vibrant young sidekick in Belmopan Khalid Belisle, member for Fort George Said Musa had a lot to say.

“I look forward to the challenge of 2015; March fourth, 2015 and I can say to you that even before Patrick can come after me, he has to win the city council election. And we have a young and vibrant candidate in Mister Khalid Belisle that will deliver.”

“Perhaps he would tell us whether or not this same Khalid Belisle is a partner in a certain company called, Mytion. This company, Mytion, controls all the B.T.L. credits that the company then on-sells to all the police officers, and B.D.F. and coast guard. And beside Mister Khalid Belisle, perhaps the Minister from Belmopan would tell us who is the other partner in Mytion…or is it too close to home?”
