John Briceño lashes out at the government

John Briceño

Area Representative for Orange Walk Central, John Briceño, then took center stage. He was fired up, and combined past achievements and present statistics to lash out at the U.D.P. government. Briceño says that if the Prime Minister thinks he’s bad, he should go ahead and call elections.

John Briceño, Orange Walk Central Area Rep.

“It was the P.U.P. that introduced Social Security and it was the P.U.P. that extended the benefits to include stay home mothers and women and benefits for the elderly. It was the P.U.P. that established the family court and laws that protect women and children including strengthening domestic violence laws weh some of them representatives from over that side need to remember. It is the P.U.P. that started and rolled out NHI in the poorest districts in this country. and now six years after, the best this U.D.P. administration can do is a promise to add Corozal Bay on the program. I think the man from Corozal Bay di worry, because P.U.P. di come fi ahn. And when dehn call elections, he is history. That’s why dehn di try put this Mister Speaker, dehn di try save his skin, but he is dead man walking Mister Speakers; ask the people from Corozal Bay. Prime minister is boasting about winning the next elections in March; imagine the audacity of this man. Well the leader done talk about weh ih wah do ahn pan the rest of the country. But I come from the north mister speaker and this time ina the north, dehn wah get wah whopping Mister Speaker. Dehn wah get wah whopping because the people tired ah unu; dehn tired ah unu Mister Speaker. And if unu so bad like the other member say, call elections now because the people tired ah unu. Dehn want unu out of Belmopan and the people of Belize want the People’s United Party back in Belmopan.”

After Briceño there were seven other presenters from both sides of the House. The debate continues bright and early Tuesday morning.
