Hit & Run in Corozal
There is another traffic accident to report tonight. It is a hit and run that happened just after eight o’clock on Thursday night. Police found eighteen year old student Victor Cassanova of Corozal Town on the ground in the area of Fourth Avenue. Cassanova was bleeding from the head and he complained to the police that he was in pain. According to the police, Cassanova was knocked down as he headed from Alta Mira to Corozal Town. He was accompanied by a friend and was walking holding his bicycle. A pickup truck with license plates CZL-C-zero-three-seven-nine-three hit him from behind; he fell and was injured on the head, right knee and was hurt on the left side of his body. Cassanova was hospitalized at the Corozal Community Hospital and has been transferred to the K.H.M.H. The pick-up truck did not stop, but it was later found without license plates and impounded. It had damages to the front bumper and grill. Thirty-eight year old Elmer Zetina, a carpenter of the Joseito Layout, was detained and investigations continue.
