Natalie Hamilton charged once again for weed possession

Thirty-one year old Natalie Hamilton, a resident of Periwinkle Street, was once again before the court today, on a criminal charge for weed possession.  The former special constable appeared before Magistrate Leslie Hamilton this morning where she was read a single charge of possession of a controlled drug.     In the past, whenever someone was caught trying to smuggle weed inside the Belize Central Prison, they would be charged with drug trafficking.  Since the prison is no longer considered a rehabilitation center, Hamilton was only slapped with the aforesaid charge.  She was unrepresented in court and pleaded not guilty to the offense, before being offered bail in the sum of five hundred dollars, plus one surety of the same amount.  Hamilton, who had gone to visit her boyfriend Gyon Bernard at the Belize Central Prison, was arrested on Wednesday.  Bernard is presently on remand at the Belize Central Prison and has several cases before the court, including attempted murder charge.

  1. Lord LOL says:

I don’t know why but it seems for many people, they never learn their lesson the first time,

  2. moses x says:

The rest of the world has changed their attitude and laws about weed. Belize where weed smoking is ubiquitous is surprisingly still in the dark ages when it comes to legalizing the herb .. Whats up with us getting rid of the white man’s law.
