2 Independence villagers killed in vehicle mishap

There were two other fatalities to report…this time in the south. Two men from the village of Independence died on Sunday night when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned in Trio Village. At just after seven p.m., Police were called out to an area in front of the primary school where they saw a white pickup overturned in the drain. There was nobody on the scene, but Police then visited the Independence Polyclinic where they saw the bodies of Wilfredo Jaime and Anthony Mejia. Both men received massive head and body injuries and were pronounced dead at the Polyclinic. Preliminary investigations indicate that the two deceased were travelling in the white pickup along with nineteen year old Christopher Gutierrez, a farmer from Independence Village. The driver of the vehicle lost control as they passed the primary school in Trio. Gutierrez was admitted to the Southern Regional Hospital in a state of shock, and Police are depending on him to provide information when he recovers.
