Police believe speeding was involved

Jorge Lemus

Anthony Hunter’s family is preparing to lay him to rest later this week. But police investigations continue and contrary to what the family says, the police believe that Hunter was heading in the direction of Belmopan when the collision took place. Police also coincide with the family’s views that speeding was involved in the accident.

Cpl. Jorge Lemus, Precinct 2, Belize City Police

“The police responded where they saw the lifeless body of a male person lying in the middle of the road and a motorcycle about a hundred and twenty feet away from the said accident scene. Also a yellow in color backhoe was seen on the opposite side of the highway. The motorcycle is a ninja Kawasaki brand ninja bike, like we commonly know it as. It had extensive damage.”

“What is the investigation showing so far that happened? How did the two collide? Was one trying to overtake the other?”

Cpl. Jorge Lemus

“Initial information received to the police at this time was that the motorcycle was heading towards Belmopan and was seen overtaking a vehicle and collided with the said backhoe.”
