Verdes FC and FC Belize sanctioned for unsportsmanlike altercation

An unsportsmanlike altercation between members of Verdes FC and FC Belize at the Marshalleck Stadium in Benque Viejo Town on January twenty-sixth has resulted in sanctions being brought against both teams.  The incident resulted in damages to an Isuzu Rodeo belonging to referee Victor Williams.  The Disciplinary Committee of the Premier League of Belize has met and decided that Norman Pipersburgh, Orland Lyons, Gilroy Thurton and Julian Malddonado will be suspended from playing in the football league for the next six months.  Meanwhile San Mendez will serve a two-game suspension at the start of the upcoming season.  Receiving the harshest of the sanctions is Jacinto Bermudez, who has been benched for two years.  Verdes football club has been ordered to defray the cost of repairs to Williams’ vehicle which amounts to one thousand, three hundred and ninety-five dollars.  The club will also pick up the hundred and fifty dollar fine for each card issued for team misconduct during that match.  Lastly, the Marshalleck Stadium should not be used until all necessary improvements are made before the start of the second PLB season.
