The fiery exchanges inside the House between Orange Walk members

Gaspar Vega

There’s a lot of hard news out of the House of Representatives, but there was also a prolonged exchange, which has become a trademark of every sitting. That was provided during an exchange between three members from Orange Walk. It started out with allegations of land corruption by member for Orange Walk South Jose Mai. Following a response by member for Orange Walk North Gaspar Vega, it quickly generated into a contraband free for all, with the member for Orange Walk Central John Briceño getting into the fray and accusations flying all over the place.

Gaspar Vega, Area Rep., Orange Walk North

“I just wanted to remind the honorable member of Orange Walk South that had it not been for the prime minister, he would have been arrested for those beers. They would have arrested him.”

John Briceño, Area Rep., Orange Walk Central

John Briceño

“Do I need to remind you when he was caught with a container….I have never spoken about it publicly. He asked me for help and I helped him. But he was caught with a whole container load of contraband in 1998. He asked me for help Mister Speaker and I helped him so he noh get in trouble. Man stop the point fingers like that; I have never spoken about this Mister Speaker.”

Michael Peyrefitte, Speaker of the House

“Member, sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down.”

John Briceño

“But make ih stop it man.”

Dolores Balderamos Garcia

Dolores Balderamos Garcia, Area Rep., Belize Rural Central

“Mister Speaker, I rose on a point of order.”

Michael Peyrefitte

“What would you call what the member for Orange Walk Central just did? What would you call it?”

Dolores Balderamos Garcia

“I call it that we have to defend ourselves, Mister Speaker; that’s what I call it.”

Gaspar Vega

“Mister Speaker, I want to remind the Honorable Briceño, member for Orange Walk Central; that I would never ask him for any favor because I know weh he make out of. And I want to remind him that I remember when I was charged for undervaluing and that case went to court and I won the case…unlike your dad that went to jail for drug trafficking. I want to remind the member from Orange Walk South that had it not been for B.D.F…. I want to remind the member for Orange Walk South that had it not been for the chief from B.D.F., they would have locked you up in Chetumal the first day because you took a gun to Chetumal illegally.”

Another UDP gial. Just as bad as Faber. These people are not fit to lead.

  2. Ali BaBarrow, king of Belizean thieves says:

Now if anyone says UDP has the monopoly on corruption, they are wrong.

These honorable men have been corrupting the government for decades. Generally UDP is better at it, but given the chance PUP will give it a best try to catch up.

Special dispensation for their corrupt miscalculations. tidbits of privileged elite turds aired tonight.

So it looks like UDP has PUP by the balls.
No prison time for Ali and the 40, while this PUP old guard leadership runs their party.

Too many skeletons. When a country goes down the road of corruption, hard to back it out.

Every wonder why Belize is not doing better? It has had a lot more breaks than Guatemala or Honduras has had? corruption squanders the future, by definition. Meantime go after the weed smoking tourists, plant some bullets on people you want to screw with, and shoot homosexuals as a way to get tough on crime. Forget the corrupt government officials or gangs, they are not up to anything you need to know about; just look the other way. Everything ok, the integrity commission will prove it after they rubber stamp the reports.

  3. sly deceiver says:

lol house meetings are so entertaining.

  4. Ali BaBarrow and his band of 40+ says:

Hey Johnny, if you were not so ethically useless in 1998, Gappy would have gone to prison and you would not be talking to him today.

Because you are a crook, you let this crook in govt, get it?

    Belize thanks you, you fool.

The bad news is the constitution is so flawed, looks like no way out.
Looks like Mexico or Guatemala will be taking over the country when the drug cartels officially lead the country.

Just like Icarus, the PUP old guard wanted another day running the mess they created.

Not having the country’s best interests in mind, well you are at the cliff, Bon appetite!
