Minor and 2 adults charged for cocaine bust
Early on Thursday, San Ignacio police along with Mobile Intercept Team (K-nine) descended on the home of forty-seven year old Sherlene Myvette of Unitedville. The K-nine soon enough sniffed out suspected cocaine hidden in the stand of a fan. According to the police, there were six parcels of the cocaine weighing point three grams. Myvette’s eighteen year son, Philip Ogaldez, and a fourteen-year old minor were also at home during the operation. All three were arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Controlled Drugs. The San Ignacio police says that concrete intelligence led them to search the property.

“As a result of a joint operation conducted by San Ignacio Police and MIT, which includes the K-nine unit, the residence of Miss Sherlene Myvette, forty-seven year old of Unitedville Village was visited on the strength of a search warrant. The search inside the house resulted in the discovery of a black plastic bag that was inside the pipe of a Lasco black in color fan which was opened in the presence of Miss Myvette. At the time present was her son, Phillip Ogaldez, and a minor. And it contained six wrapped pieces of white in color substance suspected to be crack cocaine. Persons were informed of offence committed, escorted to the San Ignacio Police Station where the drugs was weighed and amounted to point three grams of crack cocaine and the persons were later arrested and charged for the offense of possession of a controlled drug. In our area of responsibility, the sale of crack cocaine do exist but it is not a majority. When it comes to the confiscation of cannabis, yes that is common—mostly within the town and outskirts in our surrounding villages.”
All three persons have since been arraigned and pleaded not guilty to the charge. They have been released on bail.
