Minister Balderamos-Garcia steps in to assist Lake Gardens Community

On Friday, a group of irate residents living along the Old Northern Highway threatened to block access to the road if businessman Roque Matus did not address the issue of damages caused by trucks and heavy equipment to the thoroughfare.  Matus is the owner of M&M Engineering Ltd., a company which relocated to the community in mid-2013.  Since he began operating out of the area residents say his vehicles have torn up their only way in and out of the community.  Despite bringing the matter to his attention, nothing has been done.  According to one resident, area representative Dolores Balderamos-Garcia has stepped in to see what can be done to alleviate the deplorable road condition.  News Five understands that a meeting between Balderamos-Garcia and officials from the Ministry of Works has been scheduled.

The main problem is there is no storm water management in the entire country of Belize. Everyone just build whatever they want wherever they want to with no regards to how it will affect others! The second real problem is the road is not designed to move heavy trucks.
