The amended Criminal Code…does it further the LGBT agenda?

Dean Barrow

The other controversial Bill is for the amendment of the Criminal Code which seeks to further protect children from predatory offenses such as rape and carnal knowledge.  But other language in the Bill is causing the church to mobilize because sections of the Bill can be interpreted as favorable to the gay rights agenda. This, according to legal experts, is in light of a present matter before the Supreme Court in which Caleb Orosco is challenging Section Fifty-Three of the Criminal Code.  This morning, Prime Minister Barrow told News Five that the understanding that the proposed law seeks to further the LGBT agenda is both malicious and intolerable.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“I am completely at the end of my patience.  My god, if you look at the bill what the bill is trying to do and it’s something that the social activists, that people such as my wife, who want to protect children have been pushing for a while.  What the bill is seeking to do is to increase penalties against predators and against people who commit rape and ensuring that we change the law which in its current form, seems to contemplate that rape can only be of a female.  Of course you can have rape of a male! How does providing for the punishment of rapists who rape children especially, who rape anybody, whether rape is against a male or a female.  How can that be empowering the UNIBAM agenda?  If anything I think it is… anyway, let me just stop right there.  My god man, there is a degree not just of misunderstanding afoot, there is a degree of malice that is intolerable.  When you will take a bill that is designed to do good, that all people of conscience must recognize as good and to do good that is long overdue, when you will take that and try to turn it into a matter of controversy and try to say that that allied to the LGBT agenda… Look, there was something in the bill that came to cabinet as it was originally drafted that had said, for example, in terms of sexual offenses, assaults, you touch a person’s private parts, whether it’s the anus whether it’s the breasts, whether it’s the buttocks, whether it’s the penis, whether it’s the vagina, you’re guilty of an offense.  And it was saying that that is so whether that private part in terms of a sexual organ is natural or artificial, surgically constructed.  We thought right away now hold on, that is going to cause these people to throw a fit, those that are saying that already the government has some agenda to encourage as it were transgender operations and that sort of thing.  So we took that out.  We said there is no need for that, rape is rape.”

  1. BT says:

Seriously, only a PEDOPHILE or RAPIST would oppose amendments to a law that would increase protection of our children. People like Scott Stirm and Louis Wade Jr need to stop using our children to as an excuse for their personal prejudice and bigotry because their opposition to these long overdue legislative measures to FULLY protect ALL children is absolutely reprehensible, completely immoral, and definitely not Christ like.

Thank you BT. Let us not follow the US in their stupid fights.

  3. Concern says:

Are you PM really responsible to the gay community alone, and have open cozy communication. They know things you will do, long before even your cabinet members know about it. The stars are lined in their favor! The even know the date of the next cabinet meeting even before you decide it!

  4. Rachel de Ocampo says:

It is strange that the LGBT community shares the same view as the church with regards to this bill. Perhaps the church is not so far off, after reading this international gay news which was published the day before this newscast:
