Javier Moody

Biscayne resident, Javier Moody, died this morning at the K.H.M.H. The nineteen year old was admitted and on life support following a traffic mishap on Sunday afternoon at two p.m. Upon approaching a curve at miles sixteen on the Phillip Goldson Highway, he lost control of the motorbike on which he was traveling with his girlfriend, Valorie Gariel. The bike flung the couple into a berry tree. Gariel received injuries to her leg and face, but Moody was badly hurt. He received several rounds of surgeries, but his liver and both kidneys collapsed and he was placed on a ventilator. Early this morning, he perished.

“I was in May Pen when I got the call that my son was caught in an accident. I left from there and come straight to the hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, my son was still in the theatre room; when I came that was the second surgery that he was taking. Since then he is in the ICU unit and he is in a very critical condition up to this point. Last night at about nine o’clock I last see him and he is still sleeping from since then. She said that Javier was overtaking a vehicle and apparently the vehicle speeds up when he saw the motorbike overtaking and there was another vehicle coming in the opposite direction. And he decided to ease up. From there I don’t really understand what took place from there because if he ease up, then it should end up behind the vehicle that he was overtaking if ih slow down. But for some reason, ih lose control and she, his girlfriend, is not doing well either. She suffered a broken leg and a broken jaw, but she is more stable than Javier. It’s a very, very rough time for me and my family. I don’t know but I am hoping for the best. We have a few pastors coming and pray, but we just have to look up to god and that he make it.”
