Businessman charged for drinking bottle of wine without paying

Thyron Edward Lamb

A Belize City businessman who drank a sixty dollar bottle of wine at the Princess Hotel and could not pay for it was criminally charged this morning. Thirty-four year old businessman, Thyron Edward Lamb, a resident of Belize City, was arraigned in the court of Magistrate Hettie-Mae Stewart for a single count of Making off Without Payment.  Allegations are that on September fifth, 2013, he ordered a bottle of Beringer Merlot wine and a two dollar lighter but tried to leave the Princess Bar without paying for the items.  Lamb pleaded not guilty to the offense and he was offered bail in the sum of five hundred dollars. He is due back on October sixteenth, 2013.    The report against Lamb is that after ordering the wine, he socialized at the bar, drank the wine, and when told what the bill amounted to, he went into his pocket, pulled out his Social Security card and handed it for payment. He was told that the card could not be offered for payment, Lamb tried to leave the premises but was detained and later charged.
