Jose Ricardo Hernandez Remanded for Aggravated Assault

Thirty-five year old Jose Ricardo Hernandez, a driver and resident of Muhammadali Street in Belize City was also remanded to the Belize Central Prison this evening after he was slapped with a single charge of Aggravated Assault upon Aris Serrano, a bus driver.   Hernandez appeared before Magistrate Leslie Hamilton and was read a single charge of aggravated assault with a firearm upon Serrano to which he pleaded not guilty.  Allegations are that at about seven fifteen this morning, Hernandez who was driving a dump truck collided with a bus driven by Serrano. It is alleged that Hernandez then jumped out of his truck and cranked a firearm. A police officer on the bus intervened to stop the gun play, subdued Hernandez and escorted him to the Police Station. Hernandez’s next court date is October third.
