Missing San Pedro businessman found dead in Belize City Hotel
Earlier this week, a missing person’s bulletin was in circulation within the media concerning the whereabouts of forty-three year old Timothy James Callanan, a naturalized Belizean businessman of San Pedro Town. Callanan was reported missing from the island a few days ago. His disappearance prompted family and friends, including Senior Counsel Dean Lindo, to look for him. Sadly, the quest to find the missing entrepreneur has ended in tragedy. On Wednesday evening, shortly before six o’clock, Belize City police were summoned to room thirty at the Golden Tree Hotel where the lifeless body of Callanan was observed in a sitting position on a bed. According to the hotel’s receptionist, Callanan checked in on Tuesday at midday and booked a room for an overnight stay. When he failed to check out the following evening, she decided to make a check of the room and discovered Callanan in an unresponsive state, along with several suicide notes beside him. A police investigation into the apparent suicide continues.
Condolences to the family of Timothy James Callanan. This is truly sad, and perhaps we can learn from it. There is nothing more important than life itself. Regardless of how difficult things may be in terms of finances, relationships or health, things can change miraculously – tomorrow brings new hope, so hang on and fight with everything you have, but never ever take yourself out of the game of life.
Life, above all!
