Goalkeeper Woodrow West says we need to win

Woodrow West

Cuba is the last country that Belize will on the soccer pitch. With a loss of six to one in game one against the USA, and a one-nil loss against Costa Rica, the national team has one more opportunity to make a comeback. It’s a do or die situation for our local boys as they play against highly ranked teams that are very well funded.  Most of the Jaguars are hard working men with full time jobs and it’s their sheer love of the sport and country that pushes them further each meter on the pitch and frustrates the competition. On Tuesday the teammates take to the Rentschler Field in Hartford. News Five spoke to goal keeper Woodrow Wilson West and asked him if he felt any additional pressure for the last game in Series C.

Woodrow West, Goalkeeper, Jaguars

“Nothing really much. It just feels really good to be part of the team all the time…you want to play. So getting that option, it feels good. And know that I am here to play a hundred percent to help the team as much as you could.”

William Neal

“Is there any additional pressure for you now?”

Woodrow West

“Not really, we just keep our composure and believe in ourselves that we could pull off a win and that’s what we going out there for tomorrow and we want to pull off a win and get three points nuh.”
