Two brothers killed in a shootout with the police in the west
There is news tonight of a deadly shoot-out between police and two brothers in the west. The duo was shot dead following the robbery of Roses Store which is located on the Benque Viejo Road. The two have been identified as Jose Garcia and his younger sibling, Roni Garcia, from San Ignacio. A preliminary report from the police says the incident happened sometime around one fifteen p.m. when police responded to a robbery in progress at Roses Store. The shop was reportedly being robbed by two men wearing masks; one brandishing a shotgun. When police got to the area, the Garcia brothers were fleeing the scene. Police set chase and cornered them in an area in close proximity to the store which they had robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. The robbers are said to have opened fire at the officers who returned gunfire fatally wounding both. According to reports, police have recovered a sawed off shot gun from the scene, an undisclosed amount of cash and other items stolen from the store.
Bravo to the police for a quick and heroic response. I wish all violent crimes could be wrapped up this tidily.
Could we say a rough day at work? Maybe next time keep armed robbery off your to do list.
GOOOD JOB!!!! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!! Instant JUSTICE!!!!!!!!!!!! The best, and only way, to deal with nuts such as these
Great job officers! The vast majority of Belizeans support you
Can some of those officers come to City?
Good day for Belize. .cost of bullets =$5o more or less, cost to feed ,jail and transport thousand. .sorry dick and sylvesta you can’t make pa dem ya..
Our tax dollars at work. A job well done!
Oh my.. there is no justification for stealing. however, there is more of a problem in our society than just these daily occurrences. They should start shooting the ministers too for stealing from the entire country, since due to their incompetent behavior and mismanagement have made it harder and harder to get a Job.
Mother must be suffering. I hope she is able to over come this pain. Sorry.
Hurray!!! Bravo and congrats to the officers for such quick response!
GOOD JOB. KEEP IT UP. THAT’S WAT WE PAY YOU FOR.
THANK’S.
that’s the way it should be done to this scum bags kill them before they kill and less problem on the town, families and friends if you want to see your male family alive please talk to them if you see them indulge in activities that are anti society, because thieving might end them up being a statistic in the killing which we as a community are happy when a scum is gone, love your family talk to them about home values, simple as that.
Kudos to the police officers tow down more to go.
Very good job officers. Proud of you.
now we’re talking. police stop harrassing d youths n chase d real gunman. excellet job dough.
Kudos to the police officer, for the quick response. A strong message sent to the criminals out there. Stop the nonsense. Good job officers.
Good job officers! Let’s get a few more of them! I bet the madness will slow up if the cops get a few more of them!
This is encouraging, but also sad. Crime has become a famiy affair, desparae people resort desperate measures. If only we could change the economy and get people to working maybe the crime rate would change for the better.
@Truth has a good point, police need to aim at the bigtime thieves in government.
Agree with @Al, too, that our failing economy needs to be turned around. I don’t believe that all or even most crime comes from poverty, but some of it does, and Belize has more than its share of poverty. We’re barely above Haiti, for goodness sake! We need private and foreign investment, so everyone who is willing to work can find a good job at a fair wage. To get investment we need honest courts and GOB policies that are inviting to private capital.
The other ones in the city are out on bail for $1,000.00. I guess evern thief have bad luck, two to the dome…
@ Truth, I was naive at one time and thought that most of the stealing was done by the ministers. I was wrong, the biggest hustle is happening in the public servant sector. These guys are even more powerful than the Ministers. Unfortunately, I am using a broad paint brush but the number of public servants hustling is still large. Look at lands the biggest hustles are being handled by the clerk’s and people low on the pole and nobody not even the ministers can touch these people…
i know its gud but stil it is sad caz my cuzins fren died
yes robbery is not fair but why kill them. police should had shoot them on the leg but not the head. How they shoot both of them on the head if they were being shased, is more easy to get shoot other part of the body not the head. Police should had capture them not kill them, that’s what they are getting paid for.
My deepest condolonces to both mothers, Roni and Jose were not brothers.
What they did was wrong… Poor ailing mother, RIP!
What if those boys were just passing by at the wrong moment?
Who knows if they had masks as it was believed , what if the masks were put on them after they were shot? WE NEED ONE ( 1 ) EYE witness , only ONE , so we can say that the police are right.
But they are dead, no tales, Bert Vasques got away long time, JUST AS I SAID IT BEFORE IT GONE TO COURT !!!!
MOUNTAIN LAWYER, I AM SO.
If u choose that carrier of ur future that the end of freedom
