Is Milt at the end of his career in the N.B.A.?

Story PictureFor the first time in eight years Belizeans will not be following the N.B.A. career of Milt Palacio. The journeyman point guard, who has played seven seasons with six different teams, was waived last week by the Seattle Supersonics. He had joined the Sonics on October second as a free agent. Palacio played in four hundred seventy games, eighty-eight as a starter, averaging four point seven points, two point five assists, one point seven rebounds and seventeen point nine minutes per game. The Colorado State University standout began his pro-basketball career with the Vancouver Grizzlies before moving to the Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors and Utah Jazz. We were unable to find out what the future holds for Palacio but the Los Angeles native, whose family originally hails from Seine Bight Village, told News Five in a 2000 interview that if he was not playing pro ball, he would most likely be a teacher. In addition to his college and professional accomplishments Palacio also led Belize’s national basketball team to the CARICOM championship in 1998.
