Busted with weed on bus

Lenton Polonio

A sculptor from the village of Maskall on the old Northern Highway was today fined ten thousand dollars after he pleaded guilty to drug trafficking. Thirty-three year old Lenton Polonio was arrested and charged for drug trafficking on September fourteenth, 2012, after he was found with a bag containing one hundred and forty seven grams of cannabis. The drugs were discovered when members of the Anti-Drug Unit searched Polonio aboard a bus on the Maskall Road. Polonio at the time pleaded not guilty to the charge, but changed his plea when he appeared before Magistrate Dale Cayetano today. Instead of a custodial sentence he was fined ten thousand dollars which must be paid by the end of June, 2013 or he will serve three years in prison. But Polonio was still not free to go, since he owed the court a fine of two thousand dollars for a charge of possession of a controlled drug in 2008. If he cannot pay that money immediately, he will be remanded to the Kolbe Correctional Facility.

  1. Gone fishing says:

Too bad for him living in Belize.
    Colorado might treat him better.

  2. Storm says:

I’m conflicted. I like and admire artists, but I hate drug dealers for selling poison.

Maybe when he is out of prison he can try a little harder to sell his art instead of weed. Everyone would win that way.
