Garfield “Konshens” Spence, Jamaican Artist

“Actually Belize has a special place in my heart because it’s actually the first place in Caribbean that I actually did a show outside of Jamaica. That was from people knowing one or two songs. But now with the catalogue bigger, the fan base bigger, it is just a joy to be here from before to just see the country some more and vibe with them.  It is just hard work paying off and success is a journey not a destination. So even with all the success, we know that the road continues and there is more work to be done. Definitely greatly, not contented, but greatly.  It’s a whole lot of sleepless nights, a whole heap a songs I gonna sing and all of these songs are from a real perspective and so that’s why people can pick it up and gravitate to them so quickly.  I am Jamaican, so definitely reggae and dancehall will be at the root; at first position. But in terms of music, I am a very moody person and I’m gonna sing weh me feel and I’m gonna sing according to the music weh I like to listen to. I’m going to sing about my personal experiences and people will gravitate to because my personal experiences are almost the same as other people’s personal experiences. So there is no rule, no formula; just sing good songs.  Music is the leader. So wherever the music take me, dah deh soh me ah goh. People just keep yo ears open, keep yo eyes open for the videos, keep yo ears open for the songs. We ah go do song pan top ah song and mek the music talk fi we.  Konshens a represent Channel Five to the fullest…Belize big up; mad.”

The concert will be held at the Riverside Tavern.
