Exhibit launched at Mexican Embassy

From story-telling to the art…on Thursday, the Mexican Embassy is opening an art exhibition entitled, “Jazz and More.” The pieces displayed in canvass, acrylic and water color paintings focus on music by the Mexican artist, Enrique Hernandez. Hernandez, who has been painting for twenty-five years, is also a media personality in Chetumal.

“First exhibit of the year, it is a Mexican artist; his name is Enrique Hernandez. And you can see in the paintings the music and everything about this artist. He lives and work in Chetumal and it is his favorite exhibition out of Mexico and it is in Belize. It is very interesting for the Belizean public to know what happened in Chetumal about art and you can see for two weeks in the institute the work of this artist. The opening is tomorrow at seven. It is free and people can come with their family and it is a nice experience of art. The artist is not only a painter, he is a musician and well and he works in the media—a radio program—and you can see in his work that he loved music; especially the jazz.”

The exhibit opens at seven p.m. on Thursday. So if you have time, drop in to view Jazz and More.
