Guatemalan national charged for using aunt’s passport
Olga Marina Gutierrez Larios, a Guatemalan national who resides in San Pedro has been using her aunt’s passport for the past six years but she was caught in the act and now has to pay a one thousand dollar fine or in default six months in prison. The Guatemalan national, who has as many as five Belizean children, began using her aunt’s passport back in 2006. According to Immigration officers, they caught up with Olga after her aunt Noelia Larios went to the Immigration Office in Belize City to renew her passport which had expired on August fifth, 2012. Her application form was then referred to the investigation unit in Belmopan for further queries as the system registered another person under that name. Olga was asked to visit the Belize City Immigration office and upon her arrival, she admitted that she obtained a passport in Noelia’s name. She was subsequently charged criminally for using a passport she was not entitled to.
She thought that she was rich and Chinese, what a mistake on her part.
Sorry, mam, only the rich Chinese are entitled to do that AND MORE !!!
No eres china, no eres rica, se lavan las manos con usted, solo los chinos ricos hacen eso y much mas !!!
What next?. In th U.S. that is automatic deportation and the State takes away her childern. Asi que no se lavan las manos con ella como dicen algunos. She is lucky Belize Govt. is corrupt.
@Genotu Rembiuos lol you said it right.
5 children in 6 years?
If this offense would had been in the States, she would had been slap with at least three felonies; obtaining a fedral document by deception, lying to an immigration officer and identity theft. The govt. would had taken her children whom she would not see ever again, spend a long time in jail and then deportation. She got away with a slap on the wrist y nadie se lavo las manos con ella. She is lucky.
Chino or not, rich or not this is a crime and who ever gets cought should pay the price! Will there ever not be a passport scandal in Belize?
