P.U.P. now want Commission of Inquiry for GSU

Francis Fonseca

The People’s United Party issued another press release today on the quadruple homicides of members of the George Street Gang.  The party leader Francis Fonseca is now calling for a commission of inquiry into the possible involvement of the GSU in what residents strongly believe were state-sanctioned executions.  A complete report subsequent to the official review is also being demanded within a twenty-one day period.  Of equal importance is a call for government’s withdrawal from any new ceasefire arrangements between rival Belize City gangs.  During Tuesday’s question and answer session with the media, Fonseca detailed a conversation with a gang member, who was on a weekly salary by government to keep the peace.

Francis Fonseca, Party Leader, P.U.P.

“We certainly feel that that decision to pay the gang leaders, which has now come to an end, has clearly created some problems on the streets of Belize City.  I, for example, myself talked to one of the participants in that program, who said to me that he was getting five hundred dollars a week and when that stopped, he was getting that, according to him, for six months.  When that stopped he had already gotten used, over those six months, to a particular lifestyle and when that stopped his needs did not stop.  He needed to still get that five hundred dollars to meet his obligations and other habits that he had picked up during that five-month period.  So it’s a wrongheaded policy, it, as we pointed out from the very beginning, was not one that would prove to be successful.”

The People’s United Party says it is also willing to join forces with other political, religious and social leaders to meet with residents of crime-ridden communities that are in need of reassurance that the state is on their side. The Belize Council of Churches has also issued a statement urging authorities to re-instil confidence in the population by introducing stronger measures to preserve law and order.  At the same time it implores an end to the violence. Lastly, it urges all those affected and the community to work towards peace and tranquilly in the aftermath of the unfortunate events.

Lately, with the rumours that the zinc guy wants to return back into the PUP fold and that high PUP leaders are so anxious to embrace this rebellious one time brother, has convinced me that the PUP wants back power NO MATTA WHAT. The demand for an inquiry into the GSU solidifies this conviction. The PUP smells Blood and are moving in for the KILL. With this tactic they want to portray themselves as caring, as humane and as people of the people but with this tactic they proof themselves quilty of the same of what they accuse Barrow: DEFENDERS OF CRIMINALS. Man; these PUPs are masters in DECEPTION. Even the devil gets amazed. The demand for an inquiry is wrapped with the popular demand that GOB stops all negociations with these criminals. Oh boy! they are good. Well, we the law abiding citizens of this country do not need the PUP as our envoy. Barrow well knows that we the people resent him bargaining with criminals and we want to tell him also: NO INQUIRY INTO THE GSU; ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Francis Fonseca , sounds so good your opinion, but will you keep it up ?
As soon as your party is in power, I`m afraid you will turn a deaf ear to our troubles.

Well, the courage of his convictions lasted almost 24 hours, pretty good for a politician.

When the smoke clears there will be time for inquiries, and politics. Now is not that time.

The Jewel is at war with gangsters, we must unite to win that war.

The politicians should wait a while to resume their perpetual battle over control of the national cookie jar, which seems all they really care about.

This pm and gov. Is the biggest blunder the belizeans have committed ever our pm is still paying these gangs money because they have the goods on him.

  5. Belizean Pride says:

why waste time investigating the death of four scum bags when some much kids and other productive people have died and no urge to bring a conclusion has been done like this one, just leave it as it was a murder as the rest since for the country it’s a benefit to eradicate this scums of our society. hope there will be no outcome, for the sake of others who have been left aside who are more important than this four.

  6. Lucas says:

No, absolutely no investigation into GSU. Not on this case. And yes, no govt. and gang meetings

  7. Al says:

Another thought, could the ones who did this killing wanted to get the gangs to begin to kill each other. They may even want to start a war betwen the gangs, police and BDF, because if they start a civil war the bad bad guys can sit back and then move in later taking over the drug trade. and crime. Trust me you do not want the ZETAS and MS13s taking over.

Got to look at this from every angle. Locals do not kill this way, Belize men will shoot, run and hide. This is bold and in your face, this had a bigger purpose and the woman who is talking about killing cops for what they did to ghost should ask the police for protection before she start talking fool. She may not be safe either, how she culd think her son was such a saint when it seems to be known that he is a gang member.

Trust me it is not over yet, I believe there is another hit that is being planned and it will be worse than this one, I hope I am wrong. Could this be a part of a plan to draw the attention from the MS13s in Hattieville, get the majority of the BDF and police to focus elsewhere while they plan how to assault the prison. Please lawenforcement play this from every angle. Check the flight information coming in and going out. Check to see who flew in lately and flew out the day of two after the murders. Leave no stones unturn. They could have even come in by bus and left the same way. It is so easy to get in and out of Belize. Leave no stones unturned.

Someone should tell these dummies to never negotiate with Terrorist.

I agree with AL-there are forces out there, whose only goal is to disrupt the fibre of the GOB,pretending that they are looking out for the interest of the Belizean people. However, their only goal is for their own selfish gain. Belizeans needs to open their eyes and watch out for the Evil eyes. They are trying to use the Belize words against them to benefit their own cause. Open your eyes BELIZEANS WAKE UP FROM YOUR DREAMS!!!
