Thousands burglarized from businesses

Two Belize City establishments have been struck by thieves, who managed to steal thousands of dollars in electronic items, money and office accessories.  In separate incidents burglars broke into the offices of the Belize Cancer Society and Enlace Belize Limited.  It is reported that sometime between December fourteenth and January seventh, the office of the Cancer Society, located on Mercy Lane, was burglarized.  Stolen from the premises were a thirty-two inch flat screen television, along with a DVD player and a five gallon water bottle, all to a total value of one thousand, seven hundred and twenty-five dollars.  Meanwhile, the receptionist at Enlace told police that sometime between Friday evening and Monday morning their office on Cemetery Road was broken into and fifteen thousand, eight hundred and thirty-five dollars in cash and electronic items were lifted from the building.  According to a police report, entrance to the office was gained by cutting the burglar bar of a window on the east side the building.
