Sudden death in the West and North

Two other men lost their lives on Friday. In the west, forty-three year old Carlos Bautista, a Guatemalan farmer of More Tomorrow Village, died unexpectedly while working on his farm on Friday. His son, nineteen year old Dolmon Esquivel, told police that his father was chopping a piece of log when he suddenly collapsed and fell unconscious. Esquivel says he attempted to revive Bautista but couldn’t so he went to his brother-in-law’s house to seek help. Bautista was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. The body now awaits a postmortem examination.

Police are also investigating the death of forty-four year old Hernan Lazaro, a resident of San Andres Village, Corozal. Lazaro’s body was recovered from the sea in the Rainbow Beach Area shortly after ten o’clock on Friday morning. He was floating about a hundred and fifty feet away from sea wall and dressed only in a pair of long khaki pants when police made the discovery. Lazaro had a small cut wound to his left eyebrow as well as abrasions to the left cheek and chin. His body is now at the Corozal morgue awaiting a postmortem.
