Superbond: restructuring talks to pick up after U.S. Thanksgiving
The last press conference by Prime Minister Dean Barrow was back in August so there were numerous matters to raise when the press descended on him on Wednesday morning. The five hundred and forty-four million US dollar superbond was top on the list of questions. The PM said that the government and bondholders are miles apart but that restructuring talks will pick up after the US thanksgiving holiday.
Prime Minister Dean Barrow
“There was a conference call yesterday between our financial advisors and the bondholders that lasted for three hours. I believe that while there is still a gulf between the two sides, some progress was made in terms of narrowing the information gap and there is going to be further exchanges of information over the next week or so; certainly throughout the rest of this week. And the face to face meeting has now been fixed for the week following thanksgiving in the US.”
How is that “information gap” going with all the missing financial information that was found in the audit?
The creditors have a right to know, AND SO DO THE PEOPLE OF BELIZE.
Lies lies and more lies
Dean, why don’t you tell the truth for once in your life? Bondholders have been unwilling to negotiate anything with the unworthy traitor Mark Espat.
Dean, you said two months ago that you would have deal by the first week of November. Remember?
Rod is right. Lies, lies and more lies.
