But accused says he’s ready for his day in court

After our interview with Baptist on Thursday, she headed to the police station with her documents. We also spoke to Edward Martinez today and he denied the allegations that he was involved in the sale of any land. Martinez says Baptist’s claims are already being investigated, but he’s prepared to face the courts.

“I was made to understand that there is an investigation going on into this matter. While Miss Baptist chose to go to the media and air out her issues in the media, I am reserving my comments for within the court room because I am a believer in due process. I know maybe they wanted to hear her side and my side, but I am reserving that for the courtroom. I wanted to go on record stating there is no way anyone can speculate that at any given time I have told them that I have properties for sale. If there is any allegations that’s stating that I have told them anything pertaining to such, I will go on record and say that is a lie.”

“What about if its, say properties for someone else that you were selling?”

“My dear, I am not a land agent. I am not a land agent, I cannot sell a property for somebody if I am not a land agent. Any other allegations that Miss Baptist may have, has to be done through the court because at the end of the day, for her to go on the media stipulating that I told her I had properties for sale, it’s a lie; it’s a blatant lie but I will accord this to due process I have confidence in our justice system right. I don’t know what is her intentions to air on the media that I have sold her properties or told her I had properties for sale. Anything other than that my dear, I will leave to the justice system because at the end of the day, I know the truth and the media in a whole cannot air out the truth, that is the purpose of the court. So I will reserve that for the courts my dear; I thank you for the little interview but at the end of the day, we will find out in court.”
