Integrity: C.E.O. of the Ministry of Works resigns

There are reports tonight that the C.E.O. in the Ministry of Works has called it quits.  Carlson Goff was recruited from the Caribbean Development when the government won a second term in office in the last general elections in March. His appointment was seen as a move to bring integrity and confidence to the Ministry of Works. But early this week, a mere six months after he took on the top job, Goff tendered his sudden resignation. According to reports, he was not seeing eye to eye with his boss and the recent award of a contract to which he was objecting, prompted the resignation. When we called the Ministry, we were told he was out for the rest of the week.

I am proud of you my friend if you saw corruption going on and you stood up to it I applaud you this is the right thing to do and this is exactly what this pm should do he is a total failure at his job. Nothing but corruption and incompetence from this pm and gov. Out with barrow out with udp and all corrupt officials should be locked up in jail starting with barrow.

  2. Storm says:

I hope he will now tell the public, for whom they all work, the truth about what he found about corruption and theft within GOB.

  3. Uncle Benji says:

Too little too late. If he really wants to help, he can commence by being Belize first government canary.

Sing baby, sing. Tell us of all the graft, fraud, corruption that you are aware of. All, hold nothing back. Then, and only then you would have earned the title of “singing canary.”

  4. Al says:

Thank you Lord for one honest man who prove he can stand up and say no. I knew this young since he was a boy living on Albert Street. Maybe he should not enter politics and try to get the country on the right track.

    We need mor like Carlson.

  5. Al says:

I hear what you are saying Uncle Benji, but what is important is that he came forward. Think of how many more are in positions who knows what is going on, but to keep bread on their table and beans and rice in the pot, they just go along with the program.
I know Carlson, when he was a boy, he is not the type to put what he knows in the streets, so we may never know what he knows, but we should realize, this had to be truly wrong for hm to say no.
Somehow we need to know what the contract was for, and to whom it was being given, I bet there would have been some kick back to Carlson’s boss. I wonder if this has anything to do with Mr Woods’ comapny, Cicso I believe is the name.

The money in Belize floats in a small circle, look at who owns all the contracts, and you can identify those who fit in the circle of country robbers.
The next thing that needs to happen is for someone to look at the activity, spending and promotional practices at the Hattieville Prison, there is another cesspool, with a strong stench.

I venture to say that there is no place in government that is free of corruption. Corruption is an epidemic that has become a way of doing business in the country. It needs to stop.

  6. Rod says:

I am almost complete Al. With my investigation of all ministers bank accounts in Belize and in the us I will soon post all names bank names balance of all the corruption going on.

  7. Pedro Dolmo says:

Proud of this man the first person to show integrity and step down wish others would follow

  8. Nays says:

@ Al, if you know Carlson so well, maybe should should find out why he resign rather than making accusations with your very little knowledge. They are slanderous and evil, if you want to bring down anyone, i challenge you to get the facts, not hearsay. Happy, self confident people do not put others down, they might provide constructive criticism…someone who deliberately talks evil about others give a strong indication about the type of person they are….which by your words..defines you.

i believe we are now living in a day and age where social media can make it possible to expose corruption at any level, anywhere….it doesn’t take long before we know the true FACTS…however what happens after the truth is expose is another story……example the immigration scam…this goes years and years ago…and we still can’t find anyone liable!!

  9. DejaVu says:

which CFO authorized the 1.5 MILLION to the BARROW LAW FIRM

  10. Dave says:

On the contrary, it was the CEO who was being corrupted and had to step down. I think people are too quick to judge without knowing the facts.

  11. Bear says:

I wish there could be some equally honest leaders in police or BDF to force change. We will never get it through an election while UDP or PUP is registering “new citizens” and counting votes.

  12. jungle says:

i agree with you rod, i can tell you about the ministry of work here in toledo, same way too, everybody just getting their salary but no work done, i will support you in posting names of ministers where they hide their money when they theaf it from bz, we need the name of the bank and name of ministers, and what will the central bank says, the barrow ad, have a policy he is the worst pm ever we have in bz, pilly head

  13. tiredamontero says:

Rene Montero is the most corrupt Minister to ever come from the Cayo District. This man and his family members are hustling big time while the Cayo residents are under attack from unemployment, crime, etc. Just look at Star and the number of 6 and 8 cylinder vehicles parked in his yard. People are not suffering out here anymore, they are also dying out here under this administration. Only Montero, Star and their other cronies are plundering the public purse. Another Ministry for Montero to drive into the gutter. Congrats to the CEO for resigning and refusing to be a Montero puppet!!

  14. star says:

    LOL….pilly head!!

  15. Rough says:

You are right… Rene Montero and his corrupt style. He is the same one that gave huge parcels of land to his family members and cronies. He has no love to his Constituency, nor to his Party nor to his country. UDP will never won cayo central again. Blame Rene Montero.

  16. hahaha says:

@ rod, you really take pipple fuh fool. show me how you will investigate the bank accounts of anybody much less the minister. privacy law is paromount, even in belize. in the U.S. you cant even get to know about someone bank account if you are not the govt. so please dont fool your people.

its a shame the comments on here. some people just post because they can. they dont even think and the sad thing is that everybody all over the world can read this garbage. if you want to rebel do it constructively.
