Three persons, including two young girls are reported missing.  On Friday, fourteen year old Roxanne Hernandez left her grandmother’s home in Dangriga and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Roxanne, who is from the Youth Hostel, reportedly packed a bag of clothes and left the house in the company of another girl. The minor is five feet four inches in height, weighs about one hundred and thirty pounds; and she is of Hispanic descent with fair complexion. She was last seen wearing a green blouse and long blue jeans pants. The second missing girl is fourteen year old Leslie Hernandez of Belize City. According to the child’s mother, on Saturday the girl was sent to the market but never returned home. Leslie is of Mestizo descent, medium built, about five feet two inches in height and was last seen wearing a three quarter blue jeans pants, black blouse and jacket with black slippers. The third person reported missing is Arnold Martinez of Roaring Creek Village. Martinez’s common-law-wife told police that on the twenty-ninth of June he left home on a bike and hasn’t returned. Anyone with information of these three missing persons is asked to call the nearest police station.

Our prayers should be with these families and for the safe return of their loved ones. It’s a jungle out there.

  2. BMNJ says:

To the parents, relatives, and friends of the missing persons: it would be a great idea if you could supply the media houses with photos of your love ones. I find it rather difficult to visualize the missing persons’ appearances based on information such as height, ethnicity, clothing, etc .. No offense, but if I’m asking for too much please forgive me. Someone watching the news may have seen your love ones, but with the pictures not shown, sometimes it doesn’t “click” and defeat the purpose in trying to get the public to assist.

Parents go the the pm house ask him to get involved he is so mute when it comes to crime .

BMNJ, I agree with you again. Then the problem is the way the parents speak, it is so hard to follow what they are trying to say. Have we stop teaching english and grammar in school? These young girls really need some strong female role models, with all the murders there is no lessons being learned. Please, get some extra curricular activities in school to teach these young girls about life, they are not getting it at home. Please save our next generation.

You would think that in this day & age when a person goes missing one of the first thing the family would do is to get their pictures out for the public to see…

  6. A SINGLE MOTHER says:

AL why talk about the mother, what about the non existence father a girl need a strong father figure as well…it doesn’t matter how strong role model mother children have especially girls need their father around to help guide them and teach them the way of life….THEY NEED BOTH PARENTS NOT ONLY THE MOTHERS.. there is only so much a mother could do especially if she is a single working mother…you try to give your child the best education and teach them moral values but who is to say that they will follow you teaching you could only PRAY that they will listen to you and follow your positive teachings…

  7. Storm says:

Well said, Single Mother. Children without both parents is the single biggest social problem we have, I believe.

  9. sounds out of reality says:

The best, or about the best is let kids watch TV, let them see what a dangerous world we are living now. But please take them to church, teach them the Bible, sound blurr? Ok, but why not try it?
Remember that we living in a very bad moment, but…BUT GOD is and always will be ALL POWERFUL…ALL POWERFUL.
Please try GOD, give GOD a chance.
    Sorry, God bless Belize.
