Guilty verdict for murder of Corozal teen

While there was an acquittal in that case, the accused in another murder case was convicted today. Back in March of 2004, the partially nude body of sixteen year old Corozal Community College student Elia Gonzalez was discovered near a water a tank; some twenty four hours after she was reported missing. At that time, Kenrick Williams was initially charged with the gruesome killing of the second form student. He was found guilty of the teen’s murder in December 2009, however the decision wasn’t unanimous.  Judge Herbert Lord later called it a mistrial and ordered a retrial. And today, Williams was once again found guilty of the murder at the second re-trial and this time the decision was unanimous. Sentencing has been put off until July eighteenth. The prosecutor called fourteen witnesses to testify against Williams and she also submitted twenty six pieces of evidence including a caution statement that was allegedly given by Williams as well as a ring believed to have been the property of the deceased. In his dock statement, Williams told the police that a girl name ‘Liz’ was his secret girlfriend and that on the day she died, they had engaged in consensual sex and when he held her to her throat, he accidentally choked her to death. Williams went on to say that he never had anything to do with anyone named Elia Gonzalez and that he had found a ring in the street and later sold it; contrary to reports that he took it from Gonzalez. Also on exhibit were forensic evidence of the victim’s blood found on Williams. After leaving school Gonzalez, the prosecutor said, had gotten off a bus and  walked on a dirt road at the Libertad cut-off when she was sexually assaulted and strangled to death by Williams in nearby bushes. Williams was represented by Attorney, Phillip Palacio and Kaysia Grant represented the DPP’S office as the prosecutor.

Finally a guilty verdict, please put more of these lying murdering fools in prison. They think they can outsmart the legal system. Exercise the power given to you to give justice to those to whom justice is due, the victims.

  2. Storm says:

What a brilliant defence story: I was busy killing Liz at the moment, so I couldn’t have killed Elia!

I will supply the rope to hand this and every other murderer in the Jewel.

  3. BMNJ says:

Same difference. If he killed ‘Liz’ instead of Elia Gonzalez, still give him the death penalty because he personally confessed of killing someone.

  4. Storm says:

HANG this murderer, not hand him, is what I meant to write above. I’ll still supply the rope.
