Elario Elijio to be tried for manslaughter in Supreme Court

Elario Frank Elijio

Fifty-two year old John Russell Myers met his untimely death earlier this year on February twenty-seventh. It is reported that Myers was in an altercation with thirty-three year old Elario Frank Elijio, who allegedly punched him in the face. Myers lost his balance and reportedly hit his head on a concrete wall. Days later, on March first, Elijio was charged for his death and was remanded to the Central Prison. This morning Elijio, who was initially denied bail on the charge of manslaughter, saw his case go to preliminary inquiry before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith. Elijio was committed to stand trial in the September session of the Supreme Court where he will be tried for manslaughter. It is then that a plea will be taken from him. Chief Magistrate Smith granted Elijio bail in the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars.
