Oh Snap! Cop busted on camera stealing Ministry’s truck

Marvin Wade

It seems that the Ministry of National Security has been embarrassed as another investigation must take place regarding police officer who was caught on camera committing a crime. Recently, we reported on the 2009 Toyota Hilux that was stolen from the Central Health Region Compound on May eighth.  It has been recovered and a police officer is facing charges. A sting operation was carried out on Sunday, when the cops received reliable information that one of their own, twenty-three year old P.C. Marvin Wade, was involved in a deal to sell the vehicle in Biscayne Village. Wade appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer this morning along with his older brother; thirty-two year old Jason Wade and twenty-four year old Herwin Godoy. They were jointly charged for taking a Motor Vehicle without Authority and Handling Stolen Goods. The Police Press Officer says that the vehicle is now in police custody.

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer

“The Hilux is in our custody at this time and we hope to levy charges by the end of today against these persons. A police officer is detained in connection with this. We will release the names as soon as we have levied charges.”

Reporter

“Can you say where the Hilux was recovered?”

Jason Wade

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood

“I will not comment any more on that. I will send you a release concerning everything: the recovery of the Hilux, persons detained and persons who will be charged.”

All three pleaded not guilty and after several objections, their attorney, Bryan Neal was unable to secure bail for them. Senior Magistrate Frazer remanded them to prison for one week, after which bail will be granted if the police department is unable produce any further evidence against them. Neal argued that his clients were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time because P.C. Wade was in Biscayne to pick up his brother and they were intercepted at a grocery store on the way back to the Belize City for the Popcaan concert. They are due back in court on May twenty-ninth.

I don’t see why the mInistry would be embarrassed, it is the individual action of a roque police officer.

SEE ROD YOU ARE TALKING BS, THIS POLICE OFFICER HAD A JOB, HE NEVER HAD NO NEED TO STEAL, WELL NOW HE MADE HIS BED SO HE HAVE TO LIE ON IT.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE LIKE THIS POLICE OFFICER JUSTIFY THEIR ACTIONS BY SAYING THE PAY TOO SMALL, WELL GUESS WHAT IF THE PAY IS TOO SMALL HOW COME THEY MONEY TO DRINK RUM EVERY HALF TURN????? THESE MEN ARE ALWAYS PARTYING ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND!!!

HE JUST HAVE TO PAY FOR HIS ACTIONS.

  7. CEO says:

Seems like the police have very weak evidence why are they afraid to say anything and if they cannot come up with more evidence by next week they will be released.

Sounds like they will be free. Either they were caught with the stolen vehicle or they were not. Ain’t no science to this one!

  8. Storm says:

We need a law that REQUIRES dirty police and other officials to serve DOUBLE THE PRISON SENTENCE of regular citizens when they are convicted.

    Agree or disagree?

  9. now i see says:

You know why they have money to drink? Because they dont pay they drink for free and in exchange they do “favors”to bar owners. Thats all over the country. Why you think we have so many prostitutes and bars open so late and music so loud?

  10. belizeaninasia says:

I agree with you Storm…but our leaders don’t have time nor interest to improve the system. They are too busy taking care of and looking after themselves while the rest of us are preoccupied with not getting killed.
