King speaks about contracts

Mark King

Mark King who has kept mum throughout the court proceedings gave a statement to the media today following the Chief Justice’s decision. With the contract in question already exhibited in court, King did not deny that Brint’s Security provides services to the Government.

Mark King, Lake I Area Rep.

“In regards to the entire thing, I always allow people to bear the right to the constitution which is why I have been silent—let the judge decide; let the courts decide on the ruling. If I was wrong, I was wrong. If I was right, I was right. In this case I was right and at the end of the day, I also respect them if they want to file an appeal or do anything else to come after me. I’m only interested in serving the people that elected me and that’s what I am going to be doing.”

Marion Ali, Love News

“As far as the contract is concerned now, will you be privy; will you be willing to share with the public the scope, the nature, of the contract?”

Mark King

“Absolutely not still, simply because the fact that the attorney just explained that it doesn’t matter if you have a contract, it does not apply to this provision. Whatever my company, Brint’s Security, has; whatever I have personally is not public knowledge unless the law requires me to give that to the public. Then it should be public knowledge. So at this point know.”

Daniel Ortiz, 7 News

“But you do concede that Brint’s Security exists?”

Mark King

“Brint’s Security exists and it has many contracts yes.”

Marion Ali

“And it does provide services to the government.”

Mark King

“It provides services to a lot of people.”

Marion Ali

“Including the government?”

Mark King

“A lot of people.”

King defeated Galvez in the Lake I constituency by a hundred and seventy-two votes. In that race, a third candidate, former P.U.P. Minister Carlos Diaz, received two hundred and twenty-three votes. With King’s petition struck out, there are three others pending in the courts against Elvin Penner, Herman Longsworth and another against P.U.P. Leader Francis Fonseca.
