Former bank employee exonerated of charges related to robbery

Samantha Carlos

Former Queen of the Bay Samantha Carlos, who was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery following the April 2011 holdup of the Heritage Bank in Orange Walk Town, is home free. At the end of a preliminary inquiry, the charge against her was withdrawn due to insufficient evidence.  During the P.I., attorney Dickie Bradley submitted that there was no evidence linking Carlos to the crime.  Similarly, conspiracy charges were also dismissed against Harold Valencia and Noel Usher who is now deceased.  Harold’s brother, Ricky Valencia, who is also deceased was initially charged for the robbery which netted a little over two hundred thousand dollars.  Usher, prior to his death, was granted immunity by the Director of Public Prosecutions for his testimony in the case.  In a sworn statement Usher implicated a man he described as a BDF officer, as well as Ricky Valencia, as the duo who executed the daring heist.  As a result of the robbery Carlos lost her job as branch manager of Heritage Bank and was granted bail in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars after spending a month behind bars.
