Ervin Reneau will face trial for gas station murders

Ervin Reneau

A preliminary inquiry concluded this morning, in the case against Ervin Reneau, who was committed to stand trial on numerous charges, including two counts of Murder. The charges are in connection with an incident that occurred on November thirtieth, 2010 in which David Longsworth and Edgar Ayala, were fatally shot during a robbery at the Belize Diesel Service Station on the Northern Highway. As many as twenty-five statements were among the wealth of evidence presented to Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer.  The evidence also includes certificates from the Force Armorer Specialist, nine chain-of-custody forms, certificates from the post mortems on both murder victims, a medico legal form for Ursula Longsworth, David’s wife who was injured in the shooting, four identification parade forms, surveillance footage as well as the firearm allegedly used in the crime. Reneau does not believe any of it linked him to the murders, but Senior Magistrate Frazer felt that there was enough to commit him to stand trial. In the September session of the Supreme Court, Reneau will be tried on two counts of murder; four counts of attempted murder for injuries caused to Ursula, Ezra Barnett, Antonio Medina, and Henry Williams; one count each of harm and  use of deadly means of harm upon Ursula. Reneau also faces an additional charge of kept prohibited firearm, for a luger brand nine millimeter pistol he was busted with on December first, 2010.

  1. Storm says:

Can DPP win a conviction when the crime is captured live on video? I hope so! [And if not, what hope is there for the poor Jewel?]

Here’s another killer who is better off dead for the sake of the decent people in the country.
