Russell Gongora charged with Aggravated Assault

Russell Gongora

Guns aren’t the only weapons that are causing charges to be levied in local courts. Apparently pets can also cause arrests.  Two dogs belonging to Los Lagos resident, thirty-three year old Russell Gongora, reportedly attacked Andre Gonzalez as he walked by on Wednesday. But today, Gongora was read two criminal charges, not because his dogs were unrestrained but because instead of assisting Gonzalez, he allegedly joined in the attack. He appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer and was arraigned for Harm and Aggravated Assault. Gongora pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of one thousand dollars, which he met by eleven o’clock this morning. According to Gonzalez, he was attacked by the dogs as he walked past Gongora’s house. He had a baseball bat, which he used to defend himself. But Gonzalez says that when Gongora came out, he took the bat and started hitting him all over his body. Gonzalez ended up in the hospital with bruises on his knee and back as well as cuts on the lips. His injuries were certified as harm and Gonzalez requested court action, which led to the arrest. Gongora’s next court date has been scheduled for July sixth.

that about the motorcycle is so lame thats sounds like a personal problem, with the dogs, the area where he lives i hardly see any one walking by.thats why in belize criminals are always around with guns and bats and not even your own dogs can defend you.i hope justice will reveal in this case

  10. Bze Chick says:

Isaya, that sounds retarded…..why would you be in your yard or house and your dog needs to defend you all the way on the street? he had a bat because the dog is always attacking and rushing people on the street. there have been several complaints lodged against these same people about that same dog at the police station, but as usual, nothing will be done until someone ends up really hurt.

  11. Unknown says:

First of all the guy went and stopped at Gongora’s brothers house with a motorcycle and a bat. He had old beef with the brother and when the dogs attacked him he swang at the dogs, that is when the owner came out and tried to retrieve the dogs but Andre hit him twice on his hands. That is when the brother (that was charged) saw it, came out and confronted Andre but was also hit by him twice. He then struggled with him and took away the bat and used it on him.

  12. Unknown says:
