Random shootings continued through Sunday

Fitzroy Yearwood

Two days later, on Sunday, gunshots rang out once again in separate incidents in the City and two persons fell victim. The first was a broad daylight shooting at the corner of Kut Avenue and Fairweather Street where Adrian Parades was socializing with friends when he was shot. And later that same day, twenty-nine year old Frank Vasquez was shot.

Insp. Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer

“Adrian Parades this was sometime around eleven-thirty a.m. he was on Fairweather Street. He was with a group of persons who were actually selling barbecue when two men rode up on separate bicycles. The men opened fire on them where parades was hit somewhere on the buttocks area and the thigh. Luckily the others that were with him were unhurt. Frank Vasquez is sometime around in the night later that evening. He was riding on Penn Road when a lone gunman known to him only as Alex opened fire on his causing injuries to his face. Frank Vasquez is still currently receiving treatment at the Karl Huesner Memorial Hospital.”

Vasquez is still hospitalized.
