Illegal immigrant wanted for Murder in Honduras

An undocumented Honduran National was not just seeking a new life in Belize, but perhaps a new identity.   Twenty-three year-old Jaime Caballero was caught in Belize on Freetown Road on February twenty-eight without travel or nationality documents. He was arraigned today in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate, Sharon Frazer where he was read a single Immigration offense of failure to produce a visitor’s permit.   He wasted no time and pleaded guilty to the offense where he was fined one thousand dollars and in default payment six months imprisonment.  But during a regular check with Interpol, it was revealed that he was wanted in his native land for a 2008 murder.  After pleading guilty to the immigration offense, Caballero was handed back into police custody at the Criminal Investigation Unit, pending his extradition.   Police learnt of Caballero’s presence in the country based on an anonymous tip.  He will be extradited to Honduras by the weekend.

How many such murderers have we nationalize in the recent mass nationalization ?

A good investigation into the background of people living in Melchorsito Benque would be a wise move for immigration and the CIB. There are shady characters living in that area. Some neighbors even say, that some of these are runaway criminals. Everything hush hush but soon it will be seen. Just as how you cannot keep a squirrel on the ground, you cannot keep a criminal in honesty.
